There’s nothing better than waking up in the morning to the smell of chicken sage sausages wafting out the kitchen.
Ingredients:
1lb ground chicken breast
1 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1 small egg, lightly beaten
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Stir until all the spices are mixed in evenly.
Using about 3 tablespoons of sausage mixture form into 3 inch diameter patties. Over medium-high heat add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Working in batches cook patties until browned. About 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
Note:
I find that it best to refrigerate the patties overnight. It gives the sausage a nice texture. More like a breakfast sausage and less crumbly like a hamburger.
