If you’ve ever had the pleasure of eating jerk pork fresh off the grill. You know that it’s one of the best tasting foods on the planet. The feeling its you when those deep flavors from the pimento seeds, thyme and scotch bonnet peppers come together and dance on your tastebuds. It’s one of a kind. Well I’ve recreated that feeling in the form of a breakfast sausage pattie. Whether to eat them with a side of ackee or eggs these patties are sure to turn a good morning into a great morning!
Makes 8 patties
1 pound ground pork by
1 tablespoon jerk seasoning
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
2 tablespoon onions, minced
1/4 teaspoon Scotch bonnet pepper, minced
In a large bowl combine all ingredients until blended well. Scoop about 1/4 cup of sausage mixture and form into 3 inch patties. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.
Heat a frying pan over medium high heat. Fry patties for 3 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
If you want to save the uncooked sausage patties for later. Place entire sheet pan to freezer until sausage patties are completely frozen then transfer patties to ziplock bag.
