These honey harissa wings have found their way into the bbq and they’re here to stay. Harissa is a delicious spicy chili paste from Northern Africa made from the Bakoulti pepper along with garlic and different herbs and spices. This is what gives these amazing wings their distinct flavor.
Ingredients:
2 pounds chicken wing, cut at the joint
3/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon cumin
4 cloves of garlic, grated
2 tablespoons harissa
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup crushed peanuts
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 ½ tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
In a small bowl whisk together honey, garlic, harissa, lime juice and one tablespoon of cilantro, set aside. In a large bowl season chicken wings with cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, salt and olive oil. Heat grilled to medium-high heat. Grill chicken turning occasionally until cooked all the way through. Move chicken over indirect heat. Brush both sides of chicken with harissa-honey sauce. Cover grill for 8 minutes. Transfer wings to a plate sprinkle with peanuts and remaining cilantro.
